3. Data Collection on Our Website
Cookies
Some of our web pages use cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain any viruses. Cookies help make our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies.” They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain in your device’s memory until you delete them. These cookies make it possible to recognize your browser when you next visit the site.
You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies so that you can decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept or reject a cookie. Alternatively, your browser can be configured to automatically accept cookies under certain conditions or to always reject them, or to automatically delete cookies when closing your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
Cookies which are necessary to allow electronic communications or to provide certain functions you wish to use (such as the shopping cart) are stored pursuant to Article 6 paragraph 1, letter f of DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies to ensure an optimized service provided free of technical errors. If other cookies (such as those used to analyze your surfing behavior) are also stored, they will be treated separately in this privacy policy.
Contact Form
Should you send us questions via the contact form, we will collect the data entered on the form, including the contact details you provide, to answer your question and any follow-up questions. We do not share this information without your permission.
We will, therefore, process any data you enter on the contact form only with your consent as per Art. 6 (1)(a) DSGVO. You may revoke your consent at any time. An informal email making this request is sufficient. The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed.
We will retain the data you provide on the contact form until you request its deletion, revoke your consent for its storage or the purpose of the data storage ceases to apply (e.g. once your inquiry has been completely processed). Any mandatory statutory provisions, especially those regarding mandatory data retention periods, remain unaffected by this provision.
4. Analytics and Advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google Analytics uses “cookies,” which are text files placed on your computer that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States.
Google Analytics cookies are stored in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize both its website and its advertising.
IP Anonymization
We have activated the IP anonymization feature on this website. Your IP address will be shortened by Google within the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services regarding website activity and Internet usage for the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with any other data held by Google.
Browser Plugin
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser; however, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Furthermore, you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Objection to Data Collection
You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set to prevent your data from being collected on future visits to this site: Disable Google Analytics.
For more information about how Google Analytics handles user data, see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Outsourced Data Processing
We have entered into an agreement with Google for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking
Our website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).
As part of Google AdWords, we use so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad served by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is set. Cookies are small text files that your internet browser stores on your computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages of the website at a time when the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the website can tell that the user clicked on the ad and proceeded to that page.
Each Google AdWords advertiser has a different cookie. Thus, cookies cannot be tracked using the website of an AdWords advertiser. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for the AdWords advertisers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are told the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a conversion tracking tag page. However, advertisers do not obtain any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can conveniently opt-out by changing your browser settings to disable the Google Conversion Tracking cookie. After doing so, you will not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.
Conversion cookies are stored in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize both its website and its advertising.
For more information about Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking, see the Google Privacy Policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.
5. Plugins and Tools
YouTube
Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube LLC of 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.
If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Here the YouTube server is informed about which of our pages you have visited.
If you’re logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
YouTube is used to help make our website appealing. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.
Further information about the handling of user data can be found in the privacy policy of YouTube at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
Google Maps
This site uses the Google Maps map service via an API. It is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
To use Google Maps, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer.
The use of Google Maps is in the interest of making our website appealing and to facilitate the location of places specified by us on the website. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.
Further information about the handling of user data can be found in the data protection declaration of Google at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
Smartlook
In keeping with our legitimate interest in maintaining and optimizing cost-effective and reliable online services as per Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO, we make use of an analytics software product known as Smartlook, which is provided by Smartsupp.com s.r.o., Milady Horakove 13, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic.
This tool tracks user activities on webpages and uses the data to create so-called heatmaps. This enables us to anonymously determine where visitors to our website click and how far they scroll, information that we can use to improve our website and make it more user-friendly. Protecting your personal data in the context of using this tool is very important to us. That is why all the data are collected in a manner that prevents their assignment to specific users. The tool enables us to track where users move the cursor, where they click and how far they scroll. Beyond this, the tool records user screen size, device type, browser details, preferred language and the country from which site access has been gained. The Smartlook software automatically conceals any personal data belonging to the user or a third party whenever such data appear on a webpage. We therefore have no way of tracking such data.
You can block the Smartlook tool and prevent the collection of data when you visit our site by enabling the Do Not Track (DNT) function in your browser settings. Instructions on enabling the DNT function are available (in German) at: https://www.akademie.de/wissen/do-not-track-datenschutz.
You can also selectively disable the Smartlook tool by clicking on the Opt-Out button under: Smartlook Opt-Out.
For more information, please refer to the Smartlook provider’s privacy policy: https://www.smartlook.com/de/privacy.
6. Transfer of Data to Third Parties
We do all we can to protect your personal data. This includes refraining from making your personal data available to certain third parties, unless it is legally permissible to do so or you have given your consent to such transfer.
If you are insured by a provider of statutory occupational accident insurance in Germany, your data will be made available to the relevant insurance provider.
In certain cases, we may be required by law to forward your data to:
- The German Medical Association, i.e. pursuant to a relevant request
- The Department of Health, i.e. in connection with certain infectious diseases
Beyond this, your data may be transferred for treatment-related purposes to:
- Clinical pathologists, i.e. whenever precise diagnosis is necessary for treatment
- Attorneys or courts, i.e. in connection legal disputes
We will refrain from transferring your data to any other third parties (including other physicians, insurance providers or private reimbursement agencies) unless you have given your express written consent or we are compelled to do so by law.
7. Validity Period and Amendments
The present privacy policy is valid and applicable from May 24, 2018.
We reserve the right to amend our privacy policy at any time. Such amendments may become necessary, for instance, in connection with the further development of our website and the services featured on our website, as well as in the wake of new legal requirements. You may access and print a copy of our currently applicable privacy policy at any time by going to: https://www.alta-klinik.de/kontakt/datenschutz/.
